We assist all our guests with tee off times and other reservations. Your host Colin is a keen golfer and can also arrange advance bookings at most of the golf courses – a necessity during the peak summer season from November to April.
George Golf Course, Colin’s personal favourite, is rated amongst the top 20 courses in South Africa and, due to our excellent year-round climate, this stunning, parklands course is playable all year. Fancourt Hotel and Country Club Estate boasts three of the best courses in South Africa and hosted the President’s Cup in 2003 as well as the first Women’s World Cup of Golf in February 2005. All three Fancourt courses were ranked in the South African top 20 by the 2011 Golf Digest rankings. The Links is ranked No. 1 in South Africa by Golf Digest SA and No. 34 in the world by the USA Golf Digest, while the Montagu is ranked No. 6 and the Outeniqua No. 17 by Golf Digest, SA.
Also in the George area are the challenging Kingswood Golf Estate in town and Ernie Els’ Oubaai Golf Estate, just outside town, near Herolds Bay.
Other courses in the area include the wind-swept course in Mossel Bay, the dry Klein Karoo course in Oudtshoorn and those at Knysna’s Simola Golf and Country Estate and the Pezula Championship Golf Course with their majestic views over the Indian Ocean. Not to forget the challenging, yet enjoyable courses at Plettenberg Bay and Goose Valley. Expect to experience a wide variety of courses, climates and playing conditions in the Garden Route. But rest assured, you’ll be hooked after the first nine!
